Monti and Me
ABOUT:
Monti and Me is Australia’s first in-home infant Montessori programs. Founded by husband and wife duo, Jayne & Lewis, Monti and Me aims to create a world that exhibits hope and progression of the human spirit. Through age specific bundles and simple easy-to-use instructions to follow on when to introduce and why, Monti and Me makes is easy for parents to Montessori at home.

THE CHALLENGE
The founders had such an incredible vision of what they wanted the brand to be and what it stood for, but they couldn’t begin to see what it looked like. They were influenced by many different aesthetics that we knew we needed to start at the core, the brand strategy.

A palette of earthy shades were designed giving the brand so much flexibility
COLOUR PALETTE
Through the use of fun but muted earthy colours centred around nature, the brand is playful yet subdued, not being too overtly childlike which was important to the founders.
BEFORE WORKING WITH POTION
I had lots of ideas in my head but just didn’t feel like I knew how to pair them back into what I could visualise as our new brand. Coming from a marketing background I was clear with the business strategy but when it came to the aesthetics and building the story visually, I was just drawn to too many different things.

IILLUSTRATION
Playful illustrations of natural wonders were added to lift the creative. We envision over time that more will be added to create a suite of graphics that can be used across branded collateral, such as social media tiles, booklets or on the website.
BRAND PROCESS
During the brand development it was decided that the essence of Montessori should come through the brand, but we wanted it to feel warmer, more approachable and softer, bringing it into a modern conscious world.
ON THE LOGO DESIGN
The combination of upper and lowercase letters alludes to the idea of a child's journey through development with a parent being present each step of the way as the main guide. The texture overlaid across background colours and illustrations seeks to give a feeling of grounding and represents the natural world with all its wonder.

THE RESULT
We really felt like Rachel listened to everything that we wanted, but offered so much more insight into ideas and ways we could lift the branding beyond what we thought was imaginable. For us, it was so important to get the balance right. We are a children's brand but we didn't want to market to children. It was all about the conscious modern day parents. We've just launched and are going from strength to strength daily. Thank you Rachel from Potion Creative for helping along the journey.
